Euphraxia and Red Moon along with several special guests, will be presenting 2 performances as part of this year's Buffalo Infringement Festival!

Every summer, the streets of the Allentown neighborhood of Buffalo, NY come alive with scores of events by local and visiting theatre and dance companies, puppeteers, media artists, poets, comics, musicians, cabaret acts, digital designers, and miscellaneous insurrectionists. The annual Buffalo Infringement Festival provides artists and audiences of all backgrounds the chance to come together, take chances, push boundaries, and explore uncharted territory because exciting art can happen anywhere, anytime, without a blockbuster budget. (Or any budget at all, for that matter.)

Infringement Festival 2010 Showcase

"With a little taste of what’s to come, a little teaser to boost both profile and momentum, the Buffalo Infringement Festival is starting to rear its head. The Festival brings together all art forms and is having a huge bash at Nietzsche’s on Friday. Included in the line up is Euphraxia & Red Moon, Super Computer, Baby Blue Bird, Shapes of States, Like a Panther, Hunger Anthem, andEvan”Karl” from PBS. Euphraxia & Red Moon are American Tribal Style bellydancers, sistered with San Fransisco’s FatChanceBellyDance who are the originators of American Tribal System dance (their certified teachers are currently teaching classes at The Vault.)

Euphraxia is very proud to announce that this summer, they will be featuring guest dancer, Nadia Ibrahim, at many of their scheduled performances.

Nadia is a native of Buffalo, New York. She is of Lebanese descent and has been involved in dance since she was five years old. She is very familiar with the music of the Middle East, Dance Orientale, Lebanese Debkes and other folkloric dances such as the Ghawazee, Cane, Karsilimar, Sudan, Tunisian, Moroccan, Egyptian and Greek. Her career spans over 25 years, not only as a professional performer but also as an instructor and director of the Nadia Ibrahim Middle Eastern Dance Troupe of Buffalo. A student of "Bobby" Ibrahim Farah, Nadia was greatly influenced by his dance and choreographic style. She has studied under other instructors such as Phaedra, Elena, Reda of Egypt, Eddie from Toronto, Yousry, Aziza and Bojenka.

We are thrilled to have such an amazing, inspiring, and passionate dancer, helping us to entertain as well as educate our audiences!

Nadia, and her Middle Eastern Dance Troupe, will also be performing at the Buffalo Infringement Festival, as part Euphraxia's show, 'Life Rhythm: A Tapestry of Sound and Movement', as well as part of her own show, beginning immediately afterwards - from 5-6pm.
